Abstract
This work aims to explain the beginnings of the study of amphorae epigraphy in Spain and, more specifically, the
development around the creation and dissemination of use of the CEIPAC database, both in Spain and in the rest of the world. It
begins with the explanation of a small historical context in which discipline and the need to organize data and then provide the
specific data of direct use of the database by its users begins. It is also intended to show the type of uses that have been given to
this database, a particular case of the discipline of Ancient History, as well as the results and derivations of uses in which it has
been involved. Together, the objective is to explain the history of the database that has changed the information organization
system of amphorae epigraphy and which is today an invaluable reference for both researchers and amateurs.
