WOMEN'S RIGHTS IN SOUTH KOREA: WHY DOES ONE OF THE MOST DEVELOPED COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD NEGLECT THE RIGHTS OF HALF OF THEIR POPULATION?

Abstract

This Fina Degree Project will study the violation of women's rights in South Korea, the growing power in economy and technology. An emphasis will be made on the contrast between the political, economical, and Research, Development and Innovation situation in the country and women's human rights. The study will also evaluate the internalised misogyny in the country's society and the different kinds of harassment women suffer from, the police corruption related to hate crimes against women and the social movements, both feminist and anti-feminist, that have risen along the past decades.
