Abstract
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of acute lower respiratory tract infections, which are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and a public health priority, leading to infant hospitalization, morbidity and mortality in both children and older adults.
The global health and economic burden of RSV-related diseases is considerable and poses a major global health problem. However, clinical data for global RSV-related diseases mortality and morbidity are scarce.
