Abstract
The impact of artificial intelligence on professional competencies and employment structures within Spain¿s digital marketing industry between 2020 and 2025 is examined in this research. The research focuses on how AI adoption is transforming professional roles, required skills and organizational dynamics within digital marketing environments.
The study is based on secondary data obtain from official statistics, institutional reports, academic studies and labor market analysis from sources such as the National Statistics Institute (INE), Fundación Telefonica or the World Economic Forum.
The findings show that AI adoption among Spanish companies has grown rapidly in recent years, particularly in areas like campaign optimization, content creation, predictive analytics or customer relationship management. AI is primarily transforming work structures and redefining professional competencies rather than significantly replacing occupations. While repetitive and low value operational tasks have gradually become less relevant, the demand for hybrid profiles that combine analytical, technological and strategic capabilities has increased considerably.
This study concludes that AI is driving the evolution of professional profiles toward more analytical, flexible and strategic roles in digital marketing. Consequently, continuous learning, digital literacy and flexibility become crucial components of career progression within the sector.
