This paper makes an overall description of the situation of cattle raising in the municipalities of Cercedilla and Navacerrada (Madrid), as an example of rural system in decay. We present the main problems arosen during last years. Alternative line on management are shown to restore the damage produced on de environment and even on economic viability of this use
