Abstract

This thesis analyzes the evolution of U.S. immigration policy on illegal immigration, focusing on the presidential terms of Donald Trump (2017-2021 and since 2025) and Joe Biden (2021-2025). Through a legal and political approach, the work examines the effectiveness, sustainability and legality of the measures implemented by each administration, as well as their consequences for immigrants, the rule of law and international cooperation. It seeks to understand the migration system of a world power such as the United States, specifically under the leadership of Donald Trump, a figure known for his forceful and restrictive approach and polarizing rhetoric, with deep national and international implications.
