Abstract
Este trabajo aplica los resultados de una encuesta con estudiantes universitarios con el objetivo de aproximarnos a los factores que explican el uso de Internet de este colectivo para informarse sobre temas de salud. A pesar de la influencia significativa que pueden ejercer sobre los individuos y del cuestionamiento de la calidad de la información disponible, se conoce poco de los aspectos que influyen en el uso para la salud que se hace de estas fuentes online.
Se trabaja a partir de un análisis de regresión logística encuentra una relación entre las habilidades de uso de Internet y la búsqueda de información sobre salud. Paralelamente, mediante regresión lineal se analiza el valor predictivo de los diversos motivos de las consultas sobre los recursos online utilizados. Internet se ha convertido en un recurso cada vez más importante en temas de salud que permite recibir información, asesoramiento y apoyo instantáneo desde una variedad de aplicaciones y servicios virtuales.

This study applies the results of a survey of university students with the aim of identifying the factors that explain this group’s use of the internet to find information on health-related topics. Despite the significant influence these sources can have on individuals and the questions surrounding the quality of the information available, little is known about the factors that influence the use of these online sources for health-related purposes.
Using logistic regression analysis, the study finds a relationship between Internet usage skills and the search for health information. In parallel, linear regression is used to analyse the predictive value of the various reasons for consulting the online resources used. The Internet has become an increasingly important resource for health matters, enabling users to receive instant information, advice and support from a variety of virtual applications and services.
