Abstract

The objective of this Final Degree Project is to design a proposal for a didactic intervention based on the impact that children's literature has on the motivation of primary English students. To this end, a theoretical review has been carried out focused on the educational potential of children's literature, the importance of motivation in learning English and the main characteristics of active methodologies. An intervention proposal has been designed based on the theoretical framework mentioned above and with the book The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson as the main resource. It integrates active methodologies such as cooperative learning, dialogic learning or learning based on the creation of material in a creative way. The activities proposed seek to promote the participation of all students, their interaction, the development of different language skills, critical reflection, the emotional involvement of all participants and the use of English as a communication tool. The project concludes that the combination of children's literature and active methodologies has a positive impact on the motivation of primary students of English
