Abstract
Tourism is a product of temporary styles and the influence of the media. It is a social reality, currently immersed in a process of universalization, disturbing from a socio-cultural and environmental point of view, but at the same time representing an opportunity for the integration and understanding of different peoples and cultures. In the case of some developing countries, its implementation may lead to certain modifications in their social structure, some of them quite positive, such as: increase in income and education levels, greater employment opportunities, rehabilitation of heritage, improvement of infrastructures and local services, etc. Other modifications may be less admissible, such as those related to the change of social values and the overexploitation of natural and energy resources.
