Abstract
This thesis presents the analysis and conceptual development of SeaPanel, a sustainable construction solution based on the circular economy. SeaPanel is a type of plasterboard reinforced with fibres from recycled marine plastic fishing nets. The project aims to assess its business viability through the Business Model Canvas methodology, exploring how environmental impact reduction and economic profitability can be aligned in a scalable proposal.
To that end, the study examines the current context and opportunity within the construction industry, supported by a review of market conditions, consumer trends, and strategic partnerships. It identifies the key components necessary for bringing the product to market and evaluates whether SeaPanel can offer a viable and differentiated alternative to conventional plasterboards.
The product is designed to meet the needs of environmentally conscious construction companies, especially those seeking to improve their sustainability credentials. The results suggest that SeaPanel presents a feasible and competitive solution, capable of contributing to the transformation of the sector by combining innovation, traceability, and circular economy principles.
