Abstract

In the last decade, the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has undergone a remarkable revolution, transforming various industries and aspects of our daily lives. From advanced Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computer vision techniques, AI is nowadays revolutionizing a wide range of activities. In healthcare, alongside traditional on-site medicine attention, one of the areas where these modern technologies could lead to significant transformation is the emerging field of telehealth and telepharma. One of the primary advantages of integrating AI into telehealth is the ability to enhance patient care through intelligent decision support systems. AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants using state-of-the-art NLP models, can offer tailored patient attention, medication reminders and queries, and triage services to contact the appropriate specialist, enhancing the patient experience. Moreover, AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of patient data, enabling accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment recommendations, and proactive monitoring of chronic conditions, serving as a support to the responsible doctor in charge of the telemedicine service, assisting in providing more accurate and fast diagnosis and treatment. In addition to patient-centric applications, AI can also improve telepharma services. AI- powered medication management systems can ensure medication adherence, detect adverse drug interactions, and assist with medication reconciliation, improving medication safety and reducing errors. In addition, intelligent inventory management systems can optimize pharmaceutical supply chains, reducing stock-outs and wastage while ensuring timely availability of medicines. To summarize, the integration of AI in telehealth and telepharma has the potential to significantly impact the healthcare landscape. However, ensuring the responsible and ethical use of AI requires a robust regulatory framework, careful consideration of privacy and security, and close interdisciplinary collaboration. These factors are critical to harnessing the transformative power of AI to revolutionize and improve healthcare.
