The impact of out-of-classroom educational activities on child development in Early Childhood education: a literature review.

Abstract

This final-year dissertation presents a literature review on the impact of educational activities outside the classroom on the development of children in early years education. Through an analysis of academic studies, scientific articles and educational texts, it analyses how out-of-classroom experiences contribute to the cognitive, social, emotional and motor development of children aged 3 to 6. The review studies how learning in non-formal environments favors early learning by stimulating curiosity and motivation, as well as connecting curricular content with real-life learning situations. Likewise, it explores the role that these contexts play in the development of social skills, autonomy and emotional regulation, places value on their pedagogical potential, their use in educational practice, and justifies the promotion and planning of these practices in accordance with the curriculum of minimum lessons in Childhood Education in Spain.
