Directores/as: Miguel Portolés ReboulTo read is the skill of recognising sounds together with the comprehension of the meaning. Literature is a powerful arm not only to increase people¿s motivation, self esteem, concentration and critical thinking, but also to improve fluency, pronunciation and lexic. In fact, children who read as a hobby at least one time per week will have higher academic and life results. However, there is a decline of reading as a desireness in high school as a consequence of the elevated number of tasks. What is more, students may be asked to read at school inappropriate books regarding their level and interests. Reading has to be funny, enriching and an enjoyable experience due to its benefits, and for this reason teachers must teach students to comprehend what they read, accompanying them in the process with the adecuated methodology. Infant and youth literature offers a wide variety of possibilities, and guided reading helps them to understand it better through different strategies with pre, while and post-reading activities. Besides, if it is implemented in juxtaposition with active learning, the comprehension and enjoyment of reading will be even higher. Words are wisdom, and infant and youth literature are dreams and new lives that children should never pretend to understand.engreadbookinfant and youth literaturestudentsteachersguided readingreading comprehensioninterestTHE DELIGHT OF READING INFANT AND YOUTH LITERATURE WHILE LEARNING ACTIVELYinfo:eu-repo/semantics/studentThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccess
