Additive Manufacturing (AM) or 3D printing consists of creating a three-dimensional object by incorporating a material such as polymers or metals layer-by-layer. AM is considered greener than traditional manufacturing because it reduces the impact on the environment. Although this type of manufacturing is more sustainable, this emergent technology entails inherent risks which can have a negative impact on project success. For that reason, it essential to make a risk assessment to determine their relevance score in the AM Project Management to adopt appropriate mitigation strategies to minimize their negative impact on project success. This risk assessment is made through the evaluation of two parameters: likelihood of occurrence and impact on project success. This study proposes innovatively the use of a fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) in order to provide AM organizations with a systematic procedure to determine the most critical risks in the AM Project Management. The applicability of fsQCA as a risk assessment methodology allows AM organizations to be more sustainable, to continue their activity over time and to use the available resources efficiently.es
