Ítem A Bibliometric Analysis on Smart Cities Related to Land Use(Land, 2022-11-26) Bastanchury-López, María Teresa; De-Pablos-Heredero, CarmenAccording to the World Bank, approximately 55% of the population lives in cities and a growing trend is expected in the future. Cities generate more than 80% of the world’s GDP, so accurate urban land management would favor sustainable growth, increasing productivity and facilitating innovation and the emergence of new ideas. The use and management of public resources and the concern for cities to become increasingly smart are, therefore, of particular importance. To provide an overview and synthesize knowledge on smart cities in relation to land use, a bibliometric analysis was performed of 475 documents extracted from the Web of Science database, using the SciMAT and VOSviewer programs. Research papers published between 1 January 2000 and 8 September 2022 were considered. Three periods have been identified in which a tendency oriented to deepen in a broad concept of smart city has been evidenced. A growing interest in the topic under investigation has been found, expressed as an increase of the number of publications and research groups focused on the topic. The results of this analysis help to know the most relevant contributions published so far on urban land use in smart cities. This knowledge can help streamline decisions in urban land use in smart cities.Ítem Assessment of Key Feeding Technologies and Land Use in Dairy Sheep Farms in Spain(Land, 2022-01-22) Bastanchury-López, María Teresa; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; Martín-Romo-Romero, Santiago; García, AntónFamiliar mixed dairy sheep farm is the most widespread system in the Mediterranean basin, in Latin America and in developing countries (85%). There is a strong lack of technological adoption in packages of feeding and land use in small-scale farms. To increase competitiveness, it would be of great interest to deepen the knowledge of how innovation was selected, adopted, and spread. The objective of this research was to select strategic feeding and land use technologies in familiar mixed dairy sheep systems and later assess dairy sheep farms in Spain. This objective was assessed by combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies. In the first stage, with the aim to identify and select the appropriate technologies, a panel of 107 experts in dairy sheep production was used. A questionnaire was applied to all of them with successive rounds using Delphi methodology. Later, these technologies were grouped by principal components analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA). In a second stage the technological results from a random sample of 157 farms in the Center of Spain were collected. The technologies selected were linked to the technological adoption level of the farms in Castilla la Mancha by a multiple regression model. Ten technologies were selected by the 107 experts. Four factors were retained by PCA that explained at 67.11% of variance. The first factor is related to feeding strategies, the second to land use for livestock production, the third to efficient management of land resources or ecoefficiency and the fourth to by-products use. The expert evaluation was grouped in three clusters using the Ward’s method and the squared Euclidean distance measure, where the second showed higher values in the adoption level of each technology. The multiple regression model explained the relationship between the technologies and the technological level of the farms (R2 73.53%). The five technologies selected were: use of unifeed (1), supplemental feeding (5), grazing (6), raw materials production (7) and sustainable use of water and soil (10). These ten technologies identified can be directly extended to small-scale dairy farms from other countries in the Mediterranean basin and Latin America. This technological selection was supported from the broad and diverse panel of experts used. Besides, five technologies identified by the quantitative model will be able to be taken into account for the development of public innovation policies. El estudio concluye con una evaluación favorable tras analizar las diferencias detectadas, donde además, este modelo avalado por expertos es de utilidad para establecer acciones tendentes a reforzar la posición competitiva de las explotaciones.Ítem Exploring hybrid telework: a bibliometric analysis(Elsevier, 2023-11-20) Carrasco-Garrido, Cristina; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-LuisPurpose: the aim of this paper is to analyze the evolution of understanding of hybrid telework, especially after the boom experienced in the global pandemic of COVID-19, which has given rise to new ways of working. Design: /methodology/approach: in this study, bibliometrics and scientific mapping were used to analyze the conceptual structure of hybrid telework based on 104 documents extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) database. Thanks to the co-word analysis performed with SciMAT, the main themes were mapped, and the evolution, importance and relevance of terms related to hybrid telework were identified. Findings: the body of research literature about hybrid telework is underdeveloped even though it is the most valued option of telework, both by organizations and employees. There is a lack of published studies in the public sphere and in such relevant fields as occupational health. Practical implications: this study is the first bibliometric analysis conducted for hybrid telework and demonstrates how hybrid telework is key for organizations to manage the emerging challenges in this field: new preferences from employment candidates, occupational health, etc, and how important it is to have a proper management of hybrid telework in organizations. Originality/value: this study explores in detail the evolution of hybrid telework, an underexplored telework modality, given its growth as a mode of work as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. It reveals critical points, dilemmas, paradoxes, and research gaps.Ítem Impact of Dynamic Capabilities on Performance in Dairy Sheep Farms in Spain(Sustainability, 2020-04-21) Bastanchury-López, María Teresa; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; Montes-Botella, Jose Luis; Martín-Romo-Romero, Santiago; García, AntónThis study links the dynamic capabilities (DCs) theory with performance in dairy sheep farms in Castilla La Mancha (central Spain). The approach is novel as it seeks to understand how best results can be achieved by deploying DCs in farms. The proposal is that dynamic capabilities are interrelated to each other and present a positive impact on the farm’s economic sustainability. A mixed methods approach (a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of research) was utilized. First, 30 indicators of dynamic capabilities (8 of absorption, 11 of integration, 9 of innovation, and 2 of profits) were selected by applying Delphi’s methodology. Second, a structural equation model (SEM) was applied over a random sample of 157 dairy sheep farms to measure the relationship between DCs and the impact of each capability on farms’ final performance. The existence of positive relationships amongst absorption, integration, and innovation capabilities was evidenced. Absorption and integration capabilities exhibited positive influences on a farm’s final performance. The knowledge of the relationships amongst dynamic capabilities is a new orientation to increase farms’ viability. These findings reveal that the application of the dynamic capabilities theory can explain best farms’ economic sustainability.Ítem Implementation model of data analytics as a tool for improving internal audit processes(Frontiers Media, 2023-02-10) Álvarez-Foronda, Rubén; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-LuisIntroduction: The aim of this article is to understand the importance of internal audit departments todays—part of corporate governance and guardian of the organisation’s culture and climate—, as well as the opportunities that new technologies offer to increase their effectiveness and efficiency. Methods: To this end, based on an exhaustive review of the literature, the concepts of internal audit and data analytics are related, and a framework is proposed for the implementation of a technology of these characteristics in an internal audit department. Results: The results of the research show that those companies that invest resources in readapting their processes to technological change are likely to obtain better results than those organisations that keep their management procedures obsolete. Discussion: Based on these results, it is concluded that there is a need to consider technological change in internal audit departments, specifically data analytics, to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of audit processes.Ítem OPEN DATA REUSE IN SPAIN IV(COTEC, 2024) Abella, Alberto; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; García Luna, DiegoThis study is the fourth study on the reuse of open data, carried out with the aim of presenting the current status of research in 2023 and the progress made since the first report in 2017. All of this allows for the development of recommendations and future lines of work that help to generate businesses and services for society. To this end, the open data portals in Spain in 2023 have been identified, and a sample of the datasets they have available as well as the services based on them have been analysed. In addition, a questionnaire was sent to those responsible for the portals in order to analyse some of the characteristics of the open data and its potential for reuse. Specifically, a diagnosis has been made based on the knowledge they have regarding the reuse of their data, the type of innovation that can be promoted with it, the activities to promote its use, the services generated and the creation of value based on the reuse of data. The latest version of the MELODA 5 metric has also been applied to analyse the degree of reusability of open data published in Spanish open data portals. All these diagnoses have enabled an analysis of the opportunities and threats as well as of the strengths and weaknesses, from which certain reflections have been included that can help to build future public data management policiesÍtem Proposal for an index measuring the reputation of open data portals: The Odapri(Profesional de la Información, 2023-05-26) Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Abella, Alberto; De-Pablos-Heredero, CarmenThe demand for open data has led to the creation and the availability of numerous portals releasing data. However, a large percentage of them are not properly designed for professional use. One way to analyze the value that a portal de-livers is through its reputation, but this is a concept that has not yet been well defined or measured. This work will focus on the reputation of open data portals with two objectives. The first objective is to delimit the concept of reputation for open data portals, therefore leading to the first proposed research question: How can the reputation of open data portals be defined? The second objective is to propose criteria for measuring reputation and to create a reputation index for open data portals, with the second research question: How can the reputation of open data portals be assessed? This work is conceptual and descriptive and proposes a multidimensional definition of this concept, which includes whether it is known, being known for something, and its generalized favorability. In addition, a proposal is made for a reputation index identifying its dimensions and measurements, and finally, an analysis of its usefulness is presented. To this end, a figure has been created that summarizes the dimensions and benefits for creators and developers of open data portals and for the different application sectors (public, private, academic, and third sector). This research can help public administrations and other sectors to have a reference of good practices when offering open data to citizens and organizations oriented towards creating value in society.Ítem Reusing Open Data in Spain III(ESIC, 2022) Abella, Alberto; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; García Luna, DiegoThis study contains the third study of open data reuse with the aim of presenting the state of the question in 2021 and the progress made since the first report, drawn up in 2017. This will allow updated guidelines and recommendations to be made, to help generate business. To this end, the open data portals in Spain in 2021 were identified, and a sample of the datasets available and the services based on them was analysed. It occupied the fourth position in the European context in 2017. The income of this sector stems mainly from the sale of milk and derived products with pdo (protected designation of origin) as the “Manchego cheese” that generated 61.21 % of the economic value of the pdo products in Spain during 2016. However, nowadays these farms need to develop management skills to improve their competitiveness as they suffer from lack of adequate managerial performance. These circumstances joined to the fall in the prices of milk used for pdo and the increase in the cost of animal feed is generating viability problems. Considering the above, the aim of this research consisted in identifying a group of indexes that allow measuring dynamic capabilities in the sheep industry. From the methodological perspective, a revision of the academic literature in dynamic capabilities was carried out, and specific potential indicators for the sheep management industry have been identified to measure these capabilities. As a result, 54 indicators have been identified and justified to measure different kinds of capabilities. To conclude, it should be noted that these indicators constitute a standard for managers to measure, diagnose and make decisions focused towards improving farm management.
