Ítem A bibliometric analysis of greenwashing research: a closer look at agriculture, food industry and food retail(Emerald, 2021) Montero-Navarro, Antonio; González-Torres, Thais; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-Luis; Gallego-Losada, RocíoPurpose – This paper aims at providing an overview and synthesis of the existing body of knowledge about greenwashing. Special attention is paid to the articles directly linked with agriculture, food industry and food retail. Design/methodology/approach – A bibliometric analysis was performed over 351 documents extracted from the WoS database, using SciMAT and VOSviewer software programs. Findings – Three periods in the academic literature about greenwashing can be distinguished: ground-setting (2003–2010), trail-blazing (2011–2015) and remarkable growth (2016–2020). Along this evolution, a body of knowledge which stemmed from the literature about CSR has achieved a major development, deploying different research lines such as stakeholders’ management, marketing and communication and audit.Aspecific analysis of the academic literature about greenwashing in agriculture, food industry and food retail has been carried out, showing a need for further development. Social implications – The development of scientific knowledge about greenwashing puts this social claim on the spotlight of business management studies, helping to fight greenwashing and, this way, to reduce the environmental impact of corporate activities. Studying greenwashing will help to reduce its frequency and, therefore, heal the planet. Originality/value – Some previous studies have provided systematic reviews of the literature using different approaches, but they did not untangle the intellectual structure and the evolution of the body of research about greenwashing. This article originally provides a thorough analysis of these aspects, as well as a closer look at the impact of greenwashing practices in the academic literature regarding agriculture, food industry and food retail.Ítem Co-creating value with artificial intelligence. A bibliometric approach to the use of al in open innovation ecosystems(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, 2024-04-18) Corrales-Garay, Diego; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-Luis; Montero-Navarro, AntonioOpen innovation, which blurs the boundaries of organizations using inflows and outflows of knowledge to boost their innovation processes, has transformed the innovation paradigm, evolving from higher degrees of protectionism to cooperative relationships. Nevertheless, frequently the management of the huge amount of information and data generated in an open innovation ecosystem requires the use of information and communication technologies. In this context, artificial intelligence can be a major help to profit from all the opportunities derived from open innovation. Considering the growing body of academic literature dealing with the use of artificial intelligence tools in the context of open innovation environments, the objective of this article is revealing the main references, the academic trends and the hottest topics dealing with this subject, disentangling the knowledge structure of the research through a bibliometric analysis carried out over 63 papers selected from Web of Science database, using both co-word analysis and bibliographic coupling. The recent burst in the academic production anticipates a potentially massive interest in this topic, which is studied by the literature at three different levels (operational, managerial, and social). This study reveals the existence of relevant research opportunities, specially related with the management of the potential conflicts that may stem from the fuzzy ownership of the data generated by an artificial intelligence, and the roles of the different agents in such context.Ítem Digital financial inclusion. Visualizing the academic literature(Elsevier, 2022) Gallego-Losada, María-Jesús; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; García-Abajo, Elisa; Gallego-Losada, RocíoFinancial inclusion, which requires granting an affordable, adequate and widespread access to a sufficient range of financial products and services, has often been considered one of the cornerstones of social development, as it can contribute to poverty reduction, narrow the income gap, lead to wiser financial decisions, help to enlarge savings, increase the productive investment and foster a greater gender equality. Information and communication technologies have shown a major potential to contribute to financial inclusion, giving birth to digital financial inclusion. Using bibliometric techniques, this paper disentangles the intellectual structure of the research on digital financial inclusion, revealing the most influential sources, authors and areas inside this research stream. The results of this paper show that we are dealing with a critical demand of current society, which is attracting a growing attention of the academic literature and should be in the spotlight of both private and public institutions.Ítem Digitalization and digital transformation in higher education: A bibliometric análisis(Frontiers Media, 2022-12-02) Díaz-Garcia, Vicente; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-Luis; Gallego-Losada, RocioThe new paradigms that are emerging because of technological and social advances derived from the massive use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) are generating a transformative process that is modifying all economic sectors, and education is no exception. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are carrying out such transformation, reacting to the need of adaptation to this new reality, experiencing a complete cultural change that is challenging the attitudes, actions and values shared by the members and stakeholders of these organizations. In order to analyze the scientific literature about this topic, a bibliometric analysis has been carried out covering the period 1900–2021, considering a sample of 469 articles included in the Web of Science (WoS) database. The results show the multidisciplinary nature of the topic, including articles published in different areas, as well as its close link with aspects such as innovation, governance and agile methodologies. Finally, this study highlights the main lines of research that could attract more attention in the immediate future.Ítem Investing Time and Resources for Work–Life Balance: The Effect on Talent Retention(MDPI, 2020) Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-Luis; González-Torres, Thais; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; Gallego-Losada, RocíoThe study of work–life balance has undergone significant development in recent years as a result of changes in society and the growing importance of human resources (HR) for companies. Taking into account that human capital represents a critical success factor for businesses, the current context requires the development and implementation of HR management strategies aimed at attracting and retaining the most talented workers in order to obtain the expected results. The objective of this paper is to present an integrated model of work–life balance strategies, including the impacts of the different policies and practices on the retention of talented HR, which can be a basis for further academic developments on this subject, as well as a roadmap for managers. Hence, we will analyze a case study carried out in a multinational company—a leader in the technology and tourism sectors, and importantly dependent on valuable human capital, for which the HR strategy aims to improve the performance of the firm in the medium and long term through analysis, planning, and flexibilityÍtem Is the digitalisation the future of the luxury industry?(Elsevier, 2024-11-15) Sanz-Lopez, Francisco; Gallego-Losada, Rocío; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; García-Abajo, ElisaIn the context of the fourth industrial revolution, this study examines the digital transformation of the luxury industry through a bibliometric analysis of 236 articles (1991–2022) and a bibliographic coupling of research from 2022 to 2024. The analysis identifies key trends, including the use of digital tools to enhance customer engagement, the growing role of review-based feedback in the tourism sector, value creation through innovative products and promotional strategies, and the advances in sustainability via digitalization. Despite these hot trends, many firms in the luxury sector have not yet involved in a real digital transformation, as they have only digitalized specific aspects of their operations. The findings suggest that while luxury firms are embracing digital tools to meet the expectations of digitally native consumers, they face the challenge of balancing innovation with the preservation of their core values. The study concludes that digital transformation is not merely an operational shift but a strategic imperative for the future competitiveness and profitability of the luxury sectorÍtem Looking for a service opening: Building reputation by leveraging international activities and host country context(Elsevier, 2016) Borda, Armando; Newburry, William; Teegen, Hildy; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; Nájera-Sánchez, Juan J.; Forcadell, Francisco; Lima, Natali; Quispe, ZulmaWe explore how a country’s economic openness impacts firm-level signal interpretation when stakeholders assess firm reputation, arguing that host country norms influence the reference frames of assessors. In more open economies, regional MNCs’ international activities are more valued as signals of firm quality–indicating effective cross-border deployment of ownership advantages. Latin America’s unique development trajectory has resulted in groupings of both more open and more restrictive countries, creating a valuable setting to test our theory. Further, we suggest that the positive regional MNC impact on reputation is stronger for knowledge intensive business services given high uncertainty levels in such industries.Ítem Managing digital transformation: a case study in a higher education institution(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2023-06-02) Díaz-García, Vicente; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-Luis; Gallego-Losada, RocioThe new paradigms derived from technological innovations lead to the digital transformation of organisations. Higher Education Institutions cannot ignore these changes, which affect them like any other organisation, but especially because of their activity: training professionals who need to learn to manage and lead organisations in this new information society. This article aims to identify the main factors that can drive and facilitate the digital transformation of Higher Education Institutions from the point of view of internal stakeholders. In terms of methodology and due to the complexity of this phenomenon, the case method was considered the most appropriate for this study. As the results show, it is necessary to implement technological innovations according to the needs, establish adequate channels to communicate the process and transform the current traditional culture into a digital one. Data‐driven decision‐making and the development of a participative leadership style will allow the organisation to adapt to changes over time. It will also enable the retention of digital talent, which is critical to the success of the organisation’s transformation. This will ensure the development and survival of the institution.Ítem Mapping the intellectual structure of microfinance and women's empowerment: A bibliometric analysis(Elsevier, 2024-10-30) Maldonado-Castro, Jenny; Gallego-Losada, Rocío; Montero-Navarro, AntonioThe Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasize promoting and protecting women's rights and privileges. The potential role of the digital transformation of finance(Springer, 2024-06-10) Gallego-Losada, María-Jesús; Montero-Navarro, Antonio; Gallego-Losada, Rocío; Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-LuisFinancial inclusion, which means the promotion of an affordable, timely and adequate access to a wide range of regulated financial products and services, as well as its use by all the segments of the society, is a high potential tool that may contribute to the development of the rural environment, while its absence could in turn cause a major harm. The availability of a sufficient level of financial literacy, which can be defined as the ability to understand financial concepts and risks, as well as the motivation and trust to use it when making financial decisions, is frequently deemed to be a need to reach financial inclusion by the academic literature. Financial literacy is, in turn, influenced by different variables, such as the degree of rural or urban predominance, the level of education and the available income in the household. This paper analyses the impact of such factors on financial literacy. The degree of financial literacy tends to be lower in rural environments, with limited incomes and poorer educational backgrounds, which creates a vicious circle that potentially worsens the situation of what has been called the empty Spain. Considering the importance of financial literacy to reach financial inclusion, we remark the potential of digital transformation as a valuable tool to break this negative trend in the less populated Spanish regions, and so, a cornerstone for the regenerative development of the Spanish rural areas.Ítem Retirement planning and financial literacy, at the crossroads.
