Ítem Educational intervention as a key tool for reducing childhood obesity(Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, 2024-06-27) Oviol Perez, NoeliaChildhood obesity is a chronic medical condition characterized by excess body fat in children and adolescents, which can have serious health consequences, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and orthopedic problems. This work focuses on the importance of educational intervention as an effective strategy to reduce childhood obesity. Through education, eating and physical activity habits can be modified, promoting a healthy lifestyle from an early age. The results of a food record have been analyzed, which made it possible to identify behavioral patterns and risk factors associated with unhealthy habits. Based on these findings, an educational intervention proposal adapted to the specific needs of the children's community was developed. Educational programs implemented in schools show that educational interventions, when consistent and adapted, can be a powerful tool to combat childhood obesity.
