THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIO-EMOTIONAL SKILLS IN ASD THROUGH NEW TECHNOLOGIES
The theme addressed by this research work focuses on the development of socio-emotional skills within Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In the first place, a brief introduction will be made on the subject in question, from the personal motivation for the choice of said topic to a brief summary of what the investigation will deal with. The study is theoretically based on the explanation of what ASD, emotional and social skills and new technologies are, based on a historical journey on these concepts and through knowledge of various definitions provided by experts in the field. In addition, the research will be justified thanks to various laws and/or decrees related to education and inclusion, as well as the educational intervention that is carried out with students with ASD. Then we will talk about the methodology used and the development of this research, dealing with knowledge of the socio-emotional development of neurotypical students, going through the same development in students with autism, until reaching the peak of research dealing with basic guides for the educational intervention of ICT in students with ASD and finally the use and benefits they have for students with ASD. Finally, a series of final conclusions on the work carried out will be established, leaving the door open for future research.
