dc.description.abstractThe gender gap found in the STEM field (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) has increased over the years, a problem that has caused great social alarm due to the technological evolution that is currently taking place. In this project, the aim is to study the current situation in Spanish universities within STEM degrees, analysing the number of students of each gender enrolled in them, as well as to analyse the causes of this phenomenon. Through a bibliographic review, it has been obtained the different positions on this issue and it has been also evaluated which causes had greater foundations and support from the different studies carried out between 2014 and the present, observing the factors regarding the individual and the factors related to the world around them. Finally, certain strategies and proposed solutions have been analysed to bridge the gender gap, promoting a future where women are also an essential part of the STEM disciplines, thus contributing to the improvement of the technological transformation that the country is undergoing.
