The current state of the jihad is characterised by a post-organisational nature, consequence of the decline of ISIS. However, this does not mean jihadist terrorism is no longer a threat. This work analyses the different challenges that the jihad may pose for Europe today, result of an evolving nature. Lone-actor terrorism, the repatriation dilema, the use of social media to share radical content are some of the issues analysed. The effectivity of the EU counter-terrorism strategy to adapt and face this problems is assessed. As well, the gender issue is included for a whole understanding of this phenomenon.
