The study of International Relations is crucial to understanding the behavior of states in the international arena. The United States uses both Hard Power and Soft Power to exert influence, but the Smart Power approach, which combines both, is considered more effective. This involves building strong diplomatic networks, maintaining effective defense and promoting values such as democracy and human rights. Although hard power remains important, Soft Power becomes crucial to address global challenges and preserve long-term interests. The United States has used its cultural and political influence, through the film industry, holidays and comics, to project its image globally. Despite recent challenges, such as Trump's isolationist policies, the United States remains a dominant power in Soft Power, although it faces competition from emerging powers such as Japan.
