ANALYSIS OF RISK FACTORS FOR EARLY SCHOOL DROPOUT IN MADRID

Abstract

Early school dropout is a problem that nowadays negatively affects a large part of the population.

This End of Degree Project focuses on analyzing the risk factors that cause early school dropout in the city of Madrid in order to identify and understand them and study their possible prevention. The results of this analysis were a series of significant factors: a disadvantaged socioeconomic environment, lack of family support, low academic performance, lack of motivation and disengagement with the educational system.

Facing this problem, a didactic proposal has been made on the basis of protective factors, involving appropriate educational resources combined with emotional and social support.

This study tries to provide a detailed view of this problem and highlights the importance of implementing prevention strategies and adequate support networks.
