BREXIT: CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE UK AND THE EU

Abstract

This study is driven by a desire to present a nuanced picture of Brexit. As such, the object of study of this final year project is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the decision made by the UK to abandon the EU and examine in depth its consequences on multiple spheres. The focus will be on the relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom, and how it has progressed and transformed pre, during and post Brexit. In addition to analysing the political, economic, and social implications of Brexit for both the UK and the EU, the study tries to comprehend the reasons and driving forces behind the UK's choice to leave the EU. The main factor that motivated this project is the significance of Brexit for the future of the European Union and Europe as a whole. The relationship between the EU and the UK has been historically complex, and it is essential to comprehend it in order to better understand the implications of the UK ¿s decision to leave the EU. Furthermore, these consequences imply significant challenges for Europe and the European project overall, so it is a topic that must be carefully reviewed.
