New technologies and social networks have been integrated into our daily lives, and this reality is especially evident among children and young people. The diversification of new technologies invites us to reflect on whether, just as communication has evolved, the mobile phone has also introduced new educational approaches in the family context, and in the social development of students in interpersonal contexts, since, in many cases, the excessive use of these platforms prevents children from creating and strengthening those friendships that are essential at such early stages. Therefore, this paper addresses the study of the impact of social networks and digital technologies on the social development of Primary School students. For this purpose, a descriptive approach has been used with a quantitative method to collect data through surveys conducted with students and parents of CEIP Ángel León. The main results show that social networks and technologies play a significant role in the social and educational life of students. The research highlights the importance of understanding these influences to optimize the educational use of technologies and social networks while proposing future lines of research to further explore this currently important topic.
