Abstract

Crimes Against Humanity are included in the Rome Statute in Art. 7. There are the following categories: murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation or forcible transfer of population, imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty, torture, rape, persecution against a group, enforced disappearance of persons, apartheid and other inhumane acts. In this context, United Nations has directed two preliminary examinations relating to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the so-called Venezuela I, and Venezuela II. Venezuela I is the case in which the possible Crimes Against Humanity committed in the territory of this State and by its government have been analyzed, since at least April 2017, and it is on which this study focuses.
