The present work shows in a theoretical way how important and crucial it is to include the protection of human rights in the development of international norms and instruments on climate change, and how every citizen needs to be taken into account when decision-making takes place. Including human rights in climate change governance is critical and has been the main global priority since the establishment of the UNFCCC. The main mechanisms, decisions, recommendations, comments, and other instruments, are analyzed in the present work in order to achieve a global vision on the evolution and current situation of human rights and how they are being affected and protected by the international community.
