Resumen

This Final Degree Project focuses on the proposed design of a transtibial prosthesis, com- paring the digital manufacturing process of the transtibial socket using CAD software, 3D scanner and 3D printer, and the manual manufacturing process of the socket. These tools allow for greater precision and customisation in the creation of the socket, adapting it more precisely to the needs and anatomical characteristics of each patient. The benefits of this approach, such as reduced fabrication time and the ability to make quick and precise ad- justments, are evaluated. The digital fabrication process of the transtibial socket is carried out considering the specific characteristics and needs of a virtual patient. In addition, a market study is carried out to identify opportunities for cost savings for prosthetic patients. Different suppliers and manufacturers of prosthetic components are examined, analysing aspects such as quality, availability and prices. A linking idea for the remaining components is proposed, looking for the optimal solution without comprom- ising the quality and functionality of the prosthesis. This study contributes to progress in the field of prosthetics, seeking to improve the quality of life of prosthetic patients and promoting more accessible and e¿icient solutions in terms of manufacturing and costs.
