Abstract
Human-induced climate change already has profound impacts on the environment and on human rights, particularly for vulnerable communities. In this line, significant steps have been taken to prevent these harms, nevertheless there are still gaps in accountability for severe environmental harm, or "ecocide." This project analyzes existing frameworks and assesses the implications of including ecocide as a crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to strengthen human rights and environmental protections globally.
