Ítem A Research Agenda on Open Data Impact Process for Open Innovation(IEEE Access, 2020) Corrales-Garay, Diego; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Mora-Valentín, Eva-MaríaOpen data and open innovation are two topics currently attracting the attention of academics. But no previous studies consider these fields in combination while using a bibliometric approach. Thus, the aim of this paper is to understand the relationship between open innovation and open data. Two research questions have been formulated: 1) What are the main topics studied in the literature that combine both lines of research? and 2) How can the open innovation paradigm be integrated in the open data impact process? To address the first question, a co-word analysis is used to identify the main topics investigated in the open innovation and open data literature. Based on our results, to answer the second research question, the topics are grouped and analyzed considering a model of the open data impact process. Finally, some future research lines to analyze the open data impact process for open innovation are presented. For example, future research could focus on questions such as (1) What kind of applications can be created through the reuse of open data?; and (2) How do open innovation processes influence the reuse of open data?Ítem A scoping review on reducing food waste and loss in hospitals(Elsevier, 2025-02-21) Torrejón-Ramos, María; Medina-Salgado, María-Sonia; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, MartaObjective To identify the most relevant research on food waste and loss in hospitals, analyse its main characteristics and investigate key findings as well as gaps in existing studies. Method A scoping review adapted from the PRISMA-ScR guidelines was conducted. The sample was extracted from core databases and subjected to rigorous analysis to ensure transparency and quality of the process. Results The importance of conducting research that jointly addresses wellbeing and environmental sustainability in hospitals is highlighted. In addition, the importance of properly managing food waste in hospitals is highlighted, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. Conclusions The complexity of obtaining accurate and relevant information on wasted food and on the actual food needs of patients hinders efficient hospital management. It helps to identify the most promising areas for addressing the causes and consequences of food waste in hospitals. A Bibliographic Coupling Analysis(Oxford University Press, 2022) Mora-Valentín, Eva-María; Nájera-Sánchez, Juan-José; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, MartaUniversity–industry relationships have been central in technology and management innovation literature for decades. Success has been one of the most relevant topics in this field, driving a high proportion of this research. Our objective is to analyze this literature. Based on a framework of the motivations and expected benefits of the partners, classifying them into six categories (technological, strategic, financial, educational, political and epistemological), we have carried out a bibliographic coupling analysis to determine the topic’s knowledge structure. We show how these themes have evolved, with some remaining central during the entire timeframe and others gaining academics’ attention in recent years. We offer a research schedule and a dynamic, interpretative model that classifies and organizes the motivations of success for university–industry collaboration. This analysis can help in the formulation and implementation of public and private programs that aim to promote cooperation between firms and universities.Ítem ¿Cómo fomentar los trabajos académicos multidisciplinares? However, entrepreneurship and open data are barely studied together in the literature from a theoretical perspective. Therefore, this study identifies the main themes in the previous studies and proposes a conceptual model for analyzing entrepreneurship through open data. For this purpose, a descriptive analysis and a co-word analysis were performed. Results show that the subject is multidisciplinary, and the main theme of study is how different agents reuse information released by public administrations to generate new entrepreneurial initiatives, especially novel business models associated with new mobile applications. Open data sources, innovation, and business models are studied as critical factors for analyzing entrepreneurship through open data. Likewise, a conceptual model is presented and emerging themes for future research are proposed. Among them, the importance of encouraging collaboration between different agents in the open data ecosystem for service development and improvement is emphasized. The 5C’s route guidance(OmniaScience, 2025-02-27) Torrejón-Ramos, María; Medina-Salgado, María-Sonia; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, MartaPurpose: The consumption of high levels of natural resources by Hotels, Restaurants and Catering -HORECA- has a significant impact on the environment. This paper examined the evolution of food waste and loss management in HORECA Supply Chain. Design/methodology/approach: A mixed methodology is used: bibliometric analysis with SciMat software and a narrative analysis, employing both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Findings: Authors devise a general model that encompasses the fundamental research areas: the context, internal and external stakeholders, approach, drivers, process management, product or service and results or performance. Furthermore, they present the 5C’s Route Guidance, which emphasises the importance of context, raising consciousness, identifying circular models by connecting the different stages of the supply chain, and creating sustainability-oriented methods, models and products, to collectively facilitate the reduction of food waste and loss. Research limitations/implications: The article's academic implications include defining and positioning the core issues in HORECA supply chain management, providing future research questions, conceptual guidance, and advancing the theory of food waste reduction. On a practical level, it highlights the need to improve management in HORECA companies, raise awareness and call for collaboration between academia and professionals to advance practices to reduce food waste and loss from HORECA. Socially, the use of the 5C's Route Guidance can actively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Originality/value: To identify the current knowledge structure of a complex sector such as HORECA and its role for sustainability through the application of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The findings aid researchers in achieving more robust studies, expanding the literature on the HORECA sector and its supply chain, and guiding them to focus their studies.Ítem Happy leadership, now more than ever(Inderscience, 2024-04-15) Díaz-García, Gustavo A.; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Ravina-Ripoll, RafaelThe Covid-19 crisis demonstrated the need for new leadership styles suited to times of economic uncertainty. Today, leadership in organisations is less humanistic and inspirational and more authoritarian. More management models should be promoted based on ethics, corporate happiness and social responsibility. This research reflects on the type of leadership suited to the new era. It explores the concept of happy leadership and analyses its characteristics. This construct combines the rational and emotional minds of those who lead. It seeks to exercise actions that help reduce stress, frustration, and fear, improving wellbeing to optimise work performance. Thinking, feeling and doing from a happiness management approach supports people's vision from an organisational and emotional perspective by developing aspects such as creativity, flexibility and sustainability. Happy leadership promotes new models of integral management through changes in corporate culture, helping to reconcile productive efficiency with business ethics, entrepreneurship, organisational justice and happiness at work.Ítem How can tourism managers' happiness be generated through personal and innovative tourism services?(Emerald, 2023-12-18) Robina-Ramírez, Rafael; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Ravina-Ripoll, RafaelPurpose There has recently been much interest in analysing the creation of personalised tourism services and studying their effect on organisations. However, there still needs to be more work in analysing their effect on happiness and the role that emotions play in these processes. This paper aims to analyse, in the context of personalised and innovative tourism services, which factors can encourage and improve managers' happiness. Design/methodology/approach A model of analysis is presented with five variables: tourism managers' happiness (TMH), innovative personalised tourism services, internal factors: emotions (IFE), organisational factors (OF) and personal factors (PF). Eight hypotheses are proposed and tested with a structural equation model. Findings The results allow the authors to affirm that personalised technological advances applied to tourism services not only contribute to improving the happiness of hotel managers but also in generating emotions that contribute to improving their attitude towards the company. Research limitations/implications This scientific work has some limitations. Firstly, this study was carried out exclusively in Spain due to the relevance of this country in the international tourism sector, according to the World Tourism Organisation. The results achieved in this research should be contrasted with other studies in other territories. Secondly, the interviews and surveys were carried out at specific time intervals. It has not led to problems of significant bias in the variance of the standard method. Therefore, it is desirable to undertake longitudinal or cross-sectional studies for future research. Thirdly, it is interesting to develop theoretical models that include other psycho-directive or leadership style constructs to determine whether they holistically enhance the subjective well-being of hospitality managers. Moreover, other types of factors of a social or strategic nature can be considered, which can positively or negatively impact the analysed variables. Finally, future research can deepen the empirical analysis of the relationship between managerial competencies and digital innovation from the perspective of happiness management. These findings would contribute to a greater cognitive understanding of the implications of personalised and innovative tourism services on hotel establishments' happiness and economic benefits. Practical implications This paper shows the fundamental role of a happy leadership style in creating responsible, green and innovative environments in today's digital society. Furthermore, the happiness of tourism managers can contribute to the generation of high quality and excellent services that are in line with the principles of sustainable development. Social implications Personalised technological advances applied to tourism services not only contribute to improving the happiness of hotel managers but also to generating emotions that contribute to improving their attitude towards the company. On the other hand, it has been observed that personalised and innovative tourism services generate positive effects at organisational, internal and personal levels. The following reflections are advanced: The development of internal factors such as the emotions of awe and gratitude or the generation of trust can enhance the happiness of tourism managers. The happiness of tourism business managers can be enhanced by developing OF such as smart-personalised tourism services and data protection. The happiness of tourism managers can be enhanced by the development of PF such as travellers' desires, expectations and needs, or other factors such as disposable income, health status or family situation. Originality/value This is the first empirical study that focuses on investigating how personalised and innovative tourism services affect managing happiness.Ítem Human resource management in merger and acquisition planning(Emerald, 2020-01-29) Rodríguez-Sánchez, José-Luis; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Mora-Valentín, Eva-MaríaPurpose – Many of the papers that analyse human resource management (HRM) in merger and acquisition (M&A) processes focus on the last two stages (integration and implementation). Then, the purpose of this paper is to propose an HRM model for the first stage of the process (planning) with four key factors: the due diligence process, the integration plan, the communication plan and the learning plan. Design/methodology/approach – From the theoretical model, the authors analyse a case study of a multinational company that operates in the mechanical engineering sector. Findings – The results show the special importance of HRM in the success of the M&A process. And, the main actions implemented in human resources (HRs) contributing to the success of this process are identified. Research limitations/implications – Subsequent investigations could conduct similar analyses for the rest of the stages of the M&A process (integration and implementation), with the objective of presenting a complete HRM model in M&A processes. Practical implications – The case study allows researchers to learn from professionals and business leaders while also offering a theoretical model that can help managers make decisions and improve the management of these processes. Originality/value – The main contribution of this study has been to observe how HRs are managed in the planning stage of M&As.Ítem Intergenerational Leadership: A Leadership Style Proposal for Managing Diversity and New Technologies(Mdpi, 2024-02-03) Ramírez_Herrero, Virginia; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Medina-Merodio, Jose-AmelioArtificial intelligence, augmented, virtual, and mixed reality applications are improving business tools to increase their efficiency and ability to innovate. Technological innovation offers creative opportunities, but each generation values these advances differently. This study analysed the intergenerational differences and their leadership styles. The research questions are as follows: what are the main characteristics of each generation? And what leadership style is most appropriate for managing generational diversity in companies? Firstly, the main characteristics of each generation—Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, Generation Z, and Generation Alpha—were identified. Secondly, the most representative leadership styles of each generation were analysed. And thirdly, a proposal for a leadership style that can be used to better manage the intergenerational needs and technological demands of companies was presented. The development of leadership styles that take account of all generations can support economic growth and the creation of innovative and sustainable industries, as well as improve social welfare.Ítem Mapping the main research themes in digital human resources(Springer Nature, 2024-09-27) García-Fernández, Laura; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; García-López, María-JoséThe COVID-19 pandemic sped up the digitalization process and revolutionized the world of the digital employee. And today, advances in artificial intelligence are having a major impact on the field of Digital HR. In that context, further literature review work is needed on the term Digital HR to complement previous studies and lay the foundation for more pioneering literature on this topic. Then, the aim of this paper is to provide a framework for organizing the main themes discussed in the pioneering literature on digital HR by answering the following research question: What is the knowledge structure of the research in the field of digital human resources? An adaptation of the PRISMA model is used to structure the research design. Applying a mixed methodology, this paper uses a bibliometric technique to identify the main topics studied in Digital HR. Subsequently, in-depth analysis and logical reasoning are applied and a model is proposed based on four questions (how, what, where, who) in order to understand and develop research on digital HR. The RQ4 Digital-HR model constitutes a useful tool in academic, practical, professional, and social contexts. It is worth highlighting the importance of the inclusion of artificial intelligence in the daily processes of a company, and therefore in the progress of the proposed research topic.Ítem Mapping the main research themes in digital human resources(2024) García-Fernández, Laura; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; García-López, María-JoséThe COVID-19 pandemic sped up the digitalization process and revolutionized the world of the digital employee. It is observed that value co-creation has been analyzed mainly from a perspective of marketing or services. The interest of studying value co-creation in relation to innovation is growing but there are no previous literature reviews that focus on the literature that studies value co-creation from a technology and innovation management perspective. The present research aims to close this gap. This research has two aims. First, we make a descriptive analysis of the evolution of documents published from 2004 to 2020. We analyze the main journals and identify the most prolific authors. In addition, we observe collaborative behavior at three different levels – country, institution, and author. Second, we determine the content structure of this literature through a bibliographic coupling analysis, and characterize the resulting groups. As a result of this analysis, we describe eleven thematic groups and characterize them through different metrics. Based on these metrics and the previous analysis, we classify and explain the studies about co-creation in the technology and innovation management field. We obtained three research streams: open innovation, consumer-centric analysis, and service ecosystem and service innovation, and two new trends: servitization and the sharing economy.Ítem Neuroleadership: a new way for happiness management(Springer Nature, 2023-04-04) Ruiz-Rodríguez, Raquel; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Ravina-Ripoll, RafaelIn a post-pandemic era, managers and leaders have a role to enable the changes needed to make workplaces happier and more productive. This paper aims to analyse the role of neuroleadership in the application of happiness management. Two research questions are proposed: what do we know about neuroleadership? and what role can neuroleadership play in happiness management? A mixed methodology is applied. A bibliometric technique is used to identify the main topics studied in neuroleadership. An in-depth analysis and logical reasoning are applied to propose a neuroleadership research roadmap and to present some research pathways for neuroleadership for happiness management. A neuroleadership research roadmap is proposed, considering the approaches, practices/actions, and purposes. It is observed that the consideration of the management of emotions and cognitive processes in the work environment is attracting interest to develop a leadership focused on making better workplaces. A new line of action focused on the management of happiness is emerging. In addition, neuroleadership is presented as a new way of understanding management. Their combined application can mark a before and after in business management, and for that, a proposal of future research lines and questions is developed. This paper presents four future research pathways—perspectives, reasons, adoption and implementation, and results—for studying neuroleadership for happiness management.Ítem OPEN DATA REUSE IN SPAIN IV(COTEC, 2024) Abella, Alberto; Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; De-Pablos-Heredero, Carmen; García Luna, DiegoThis study is the fourth study on the reuse of open data, carried out with the aim of presenting the current status of research in 2023 and the progress made since the first report in 2017. All of this allows for the development of recommendations and future lines of work that help to generate businesses and services for society. To this end, the open data portals in Spain in 2023 have been identified, and a sample of the datasets they have available as well as the services based on them have been analysed. In addition, a questionnaire was sent to those responsible for the portals in order to analyse some of the characteristics of the open data and its potential for reuse. Specifically, a diagnosis has been made based on the knowledge they have regarding the reuse of their data, the type of innovation that can be promoted with it, the activities to promote its use, the services generated and the creation of value based on the reuse of data. The latest version of the MELODA 5 metric has also been applied to analyse the degree of reusability of open data published in Spanish open data portals. All these diagnoses have enabled an analysis of the opportunities and threats as well as of the strengths and weaknesses, from which certain reflections have been included that can help to build future public data management policiesÍtem Open data-set identifier for open innovation and knowledge management(Emerald, 2023-11-22) Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Abella, Alberto; García-Luna, DiegoPurpose This paper aims to highlight the importance of open data and the role that knowledge management and open innovation can play in its identification and use. Open data has great potential to create social and economic value, but its main problem is that it is often not easily reusable. The aim of this paper is to propose a unique identifier for open data-sets that would facilitate search and access to them and help to reduce heterogeneity in the publication of data in open data portals. Design/methodology/approach Considering a model of the impact process of open data reuse and based on the digital object identifier system, this paper develops a proposal of a unique identifier for open data-sets called Open Data-set Identifier (OpenDatId). Findings This paper presents some examples of the application and advantages of OpenDatId. For example, users can easily consult the available content catalogues, search the data in an automated way and examine the content for reuse. It is also possible to find out where this data comes from, solving the problems caused by the increasingly frequent federation of data in open data portals and enabling the creation of additional services based on open data. Originality/value From an integrated perspective of knowledge management and open innovation, this paper presents a new unique identifier for open data-sets (OpenDatId) and a new concept for data-set, the FAIR Open Data-sets.Ítem Proposal for an index measuring the reputation of open data portals: The Odapri(Profesional de la Información, 2023-05-26) Ortiz-de-Urbina-Criado, Marta; Abella, Alberto; De-Pablos-Heredero, CarmenThe demand for open data has led to the creation and the availability of numerous portals releasing data. However, a large percentage of them are not properly designed for professional use. One way to analyze the value that a portal de-livers is through its reputation, but this is a concept that has not yet been well defined or measured. This work will focus on the reputation of open data portals with two objectives. The first objective is to delimit the concept of reputation for open data portals, therefore leading to the first proposed research question: How can the reputation of open data portals be defined? The second objective is to propose criteria for measuring reputation and to create a reputation index for open data portals, with the second research question: How can the reputation of open data portals be assessed? This work is conceptual and descriptive and proposes a multidimensional definition of this concept, which includes whether it is known, being known for something, and its generalized favorability. In addition, a proposal is made for a reputation index identifying its dimensions and measurements, and finally, an analysis of its usefulness is presented. To this end, a figure has been created that summarizes the dimensions and benefits for creators and developers of open data portals and for the different application sectors (public, private, academic, and third sector). This research can help public administrations and other sectors to have a reference of good practices when offering open data to citizens and organizations oriented towards creating value in society.
