Abstract
Los neonatos de la Casa de Austria fueron fajados en pañales con objeto de evitar malformaciones óseas. Para la ejecución de esta práctica de tradición inmemorial, las labranderas y cordoneros de palacio previnieron los indumentos necesarios con semanas de antelación al alumbramiento. La exigencia de mostrar la condición regia de los infantes recién nacidos llevó a incluir ornamentos suntuosos y tejidos nobles en su primer guardarropa, del cual, el traje bautismal ostentó la mayor opulencia.
