Resumen
The teaching experience shows that education needs to concentrate more on our students’ learning process rather than on the teaching practice itself. Language teaching, if it is addressed from a student-centered methodology, demands that students’ learning styles be analyzed. Thus, this article encompasses some definitions of learning styles, with the intention of describing the relationship they hold with language learning. The main aim of this article is to help students learn a foreign language more easily
and efficiently as well as to offer teachers some clues to teach students who follow diverse learning styles. Special attention is given to the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles, since all of them have an influence on students’ language development and academic results. The primary objective of this article is to contribute to illustrating how learning styles and foreign language learning are linked to each other and how this connection can enhance students’ motivation and language performance.
