| dc.description | It is necessary to begin by separating moral codes from codes of conduct and ethics (CCE). The firsts are the fruit of conceptions and intuitions about right and wrong that the various human communities consolidate through custom in the form of standards of conduct. They do not seek to generate a general and coherent ethical position. They are usually linked to mythical accounts and religious conceptions. An example would be the Ten Commandments. CCE should be based on prior ethical reflection on the value of the professions and organizations and their social function. It is not a matter of adding precepts but of providing guidelines for applying normative theories through principles and rules to solve practical problems of professional life (Thompson, 1987). Professional ethics should not be separated from general ethics and institutional integrity, especially in public administration (Goss, 1996; Kirby, 2018; Ceva and Ferretti, 2021) | |
| dc.description.abstract | Tras introducir en qué consiste un código de ética (y de conducta) y diferenciarlo de otros códigos morales, el texto expone qué implica la ética en el ejercicio de una profesión, siguiendo a MacIntyre. También se desarrolla la peculiaridad de la ética en el ámbito de lo público y sus códigos éticos, se describen los pros y contras de estos códigos según la literatura existente, los tipos y contenido de los diferentes códigos, y se concluye con las razones del desarrollo y extensión así como de las consecuencias de estos instrumentos. | |
