dc.description | El brote de COVID-19 es una gran amenaza en Europa. Después de Italia, España es el país más afectado en términos generales. Lamentablemente, en este momento (4 de abril de 2020), el gobierno español informa 11 744 muertes, 124 736 casos confirmados y 34 219 casos recuperados. 57 612 pacientes requieren atención hospitalaria y 6416 de ellos se encuentran en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) en este momento.1 El impacto en el sistema de atención médica es enorme y, obviamente, incluye los servicios de medicina de rehabilitación física (PRM) en todo el país. En la mayoría de los hospitales generales, una gran cantidad de profesionales de la rehabilitación han sido reasignados a salas de emergencia para unirse a equipos de atención aguda multiprofesionales y multiespecialistas que trabajan con pacientes hospitalizados. Nuestras instalaciones de medicina física y rehabilitación se han transformado en salas de hospitalización improvisadas. Al mismo tiempo, se han establecido prioridades de tratamiento de pacientes de rehabilitación y pautas de protección profesional/paciente siguiendo principios similares. | |
