In "La posibilidad del regreso (del exilio) a través de la experiencia estética" is textually analyzed one of the most important movies in the Spanish exile: "En el balcón vacío", de Jomi García Ascot y Mª Luisa Elio (México, 1962). Through the itemized analysis of some of its more interesting sequences, we go threshing the dramatic sense that underlies in the whole movie. This way, we give account of the intense encounter among the memory of a woman that remembers his forced exile from a Spain that was always in the memory -the empty balcony-and the painful experience of remembering something that will no longer be possible. Or may be yes, if what mediates is the film apparatus interposed by the authors, facilitating this way the return to a place, Spain, which is no longer the one that she remembered. Loss, then, of referents at the turning back, what almost makes experience madness to the heroine, because not another thing happens when you cross with you as a young being in the stairs.
