In-person engaging higher education teaching methodology modified to increase student engagement in an online teaching environment

Resumen

This research study explores whether traditional in-person teaching approaches can be adapted to improve student engagement in online learning environments. We seek to identify the factors influencing student engagement and how they manifest. The project involves adapting successful student-centric teaching methodologies from in-person settings to online higher education courses and assessing their impact on student engagement across different cultural and academic contexts. We aim to determine whether the transition from in-person to online teaching can lead to improvements in teaching effectiveness with varied methods and technology. With the onset of COVID-19, the question arises: What is the most effective teaching method – online, in-person, or a blended learning approach?
