Efectos de la estructura del paisaje sobre la diversidad y conservación de organismos epífitos en bosques mediterráneos, y su influencia sobre la dispersión y el establecimiento
Abstract
La transformación del paisaje es un fenómeno global que afecta de forma intensa a la biodiversidad de todos los ecosistemas. Delimitar y definir claramente los procesos que forman parte de esa modificación generalizada y conocer sus efectos sobre la biodiversidad, debe ayudar a promover una actividad antrópica más responsable y mitigar sus dañinas consecuencias. La pérdida y fragmentación de hábitats son los procesos más intensos de transformación del paisaje, y su interacción con las comunidades han demostrado ser muy evidentes y negativos. Así el objetivo de esta tesis doctoral consiste en conocer el efecto de ambos procesos sobre la ecología y la biología de organismos epífitos de bosque mediterráneo. Para ello se definieron una serie de variables descriptoras de un paisaje fragmentado, y se midió la respuesta ante ellas de líquenes y musgos epífitos, tanto a nivel de comunidad como de especie.
